The Guild and AFA Joining Forces for Education Sessions

The Guild and American Floorcovering Alliance (AFA) are partnering to present education sessions for flooring professionals Oct. 20, 21 and 22 at the Dalton Convention Center.

Over the course of three days, forensic concrete engineer inspector, Roberto Nunez will lead a concrete session and manufacturers will contribute to the Inspector's Boot Camp where attendees will learn inspection techniques 

During Nunez' session, attendees will learn about the design, construction and troubleshooting fundamentals of concrete slabs-on-grade, one of the most frequently used construction elements in commercial and industrial projects. Despite their popularity and extensive use, concrete slabs-on-grade are responsible for most in-service deficiencies and construction problems. Attendees will review examples for both reinforced and non reinforced slabs-on-grade and you will learn to design high quality and constructible concrete slabs-on-grade. Attendees will take home a very practical review of concrete materials as well as geotechnical, construction and quality control principles (including troubleshooting).
