Flowcrete Introduces STAR Program

 

Flowcrete Americas has launched the Specialist Training in the Application of Resin (STAR) program, which has been designed to ensure its contractor network continues to offer clients a high level of expertise and craftsmanship, according to the company.

The new contractor training program demonstrates the latest installation techniques and provides resin flooring hints and tips from experienced trainers.

As part of the STAR program, Flowcrete will provide in-house training at the contractor’s premises, led by a qualified trainer. This includes all the resin materials and educational resources required for training purposes at no extra cost.

There are numerous benefits to undertaking the program, starting with access to an in-house training seminar that combines expert led practical demonstrations with in depth classroom-based learning.

"Participants will enhance their understanding of Flowcrete's flooring systems, characteristics and workability and receive practical guidance on how to avoid the most common errors," said a Flowcrete representative.

Following the successful completion of training, Flowcrete will honor discounted rates on all materials to STAR-rated contractors who will have access to a network of post-training support, advice and expert troubleshooting.

STAR-rated contractors will also have the exclusive use of the Flowcrete's STAR contractor logo on work apparel, literature and stationery as well as project tenders and bids, giving them the leverage of the globally recognized Flowcrete brand when securing new business opportunities.

Throughout the STAR contractor course a wide spectrum of topics are covered, including: cementitious urethane, methyl methacrylate (MMA) and other specialty resin chemistries, typical floor installation construction details, floor installation project management and installation proficiency testing and certification.

The introduction of the STAR program comes at an exciting time for the resin flooring specialist. Flowcrete has recently opened a manufacturing headquarters in Texas to support innovative expansion plans which will see it significantly develop its presence within construction markets across the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

This motivated spirit of progress follows last year’s appointment of Dave McNeece as Flowcrete Americas’ new managing director. This new leadership has focused on leveraging the company’s potential and unlocked ambition and has already set it on a course of substantial growth.

Several recent appointments have been made to turn up the pace on Flowcrete’s business plans. This has included engaging Mike Dzialo as its new vice president of sales, along with the appointment of Paul Anderson as technical director and Doug Dompert as technical services specialist in late 2014. Dompert is charged with spearheading the launch of the STAR program.

Dompert’s credentials stem from his many years of work in the U.S. polymer floor coatings industry, in which he has gained experience in both application techniques and technical trouble-shooting.  

Once contractors have achieved a STAR quality rating they will automatically be eligible for free participation in any refresher or new technology training seminars held at Flowcrete America’s headquarters in Spring, Texas.
