The International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association (CFI) has released a schedule of its upcoming open events and dealer-specific workshops and certification.
According to the association, the benefits to installation training can be strongly measured by customer satisfaction. Enhancing the skills of the installers leads to a more productive day in the field because of the new and improved techniques that continually are added for the installation of ceramic, carpet, resilient, laminate and wood flooring.
“Increased training delivers results that provide more sales," said Robert Varden, CFI's executive director. "Both dealers and flooring installers benefit from updated information and skills training. We prepare the applicants with The CFI Study Guide that contains the answers to the written tests. It is the goal of CFI to furnish as much information as possible to make the experience rewarding and enjoyable.”
CFI also conducts installation training for individuals who are just entering the trade. According to Varden, these programs are very intense and designed for those who have recently chosen flooring installation as a new career. CFI programs offered by dealers in various areas are one to two week, hands-on courses that prepare the students to be well-trained assistants.
The World Floorcovering Association (WFCA) offers its members educational scholarships that apply to all CFI events.
