Coverings' Installation Design Showcase to Highlight Industry Talent
Attendees of Coverings, taking place April 14 to 17 in Orlando, Fla., will witness four unique interpretations of bath design come to life during the show’s annual Installation Design Showcase (IDS).
In its sixth year, the demonstration exhibit will pair designers with tile and stone manufacturers and master installers to create full-scale, conceptual vignettes in full view of Coverings attendees.
According to show officials, IDS will focus specifically on bath design, resulting in four spaces representing different market segments, including a residential master bath, a boutique hotel bath and two interpretations of resort bath spaces. These vignettes will demonstrate the diverse ways tile and stone materials and advanced installation techniques can influence the look, feel and performance of a bath space.
“The 2015 Installation Design Showcase will bring together all facets of the tile and stone industry to emphasize the vital roles each play in every installation,” said Karin Fendrich, Coverings' show director. “By focusing solely on bath environments, this year's IDS will reveal how careful product selection and skilled installation can transform seemingly similar spaces into distinctively varied environments.”
Design teams led by representatives from Anne Rue Interiors, tvsdesign and HHCP will be paired with installers who hold Five-Star recognition from the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) and certification from the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) to execute each vision. Installation materials will be supplied by Tec/H.B. Fuller Construction Products, Laticrete and MAPEI; tools will be supplied by A.T.R. Leveling, Bellota/Corona, Montolit, Rubi Tools USA and Russo Trading Co., and backerboard will be provided by USG Corp.
John Cox of Cox Tile and Stone has also played a critical role as technical consultant for the showcase. “IDS is the culmination of many hours of coordinated efforts and intense planning to overcome the obstacles and challenges encountered when strategizing the build-out of four different installations over the course of only five days. The contractors chosen represent the best of the best in our profession, and it has been so exciting working with the installation companies, suppliers and designers to create a memorable, innovative and inspirational exhibit that everyone is sure to enjoy."
