E Unveils Newest Underlayment Systems

Environmentally Safe Products (ESP) Low-E has introduced two flooring underlayment systems designed to add a proven heat, sound and vapor barrier to any type of flooring system, according to the company.

Therm E Pad Carpet Underlayment, designed for carpeted applications and Therm E Pad Flooring Underlayment, designed for hardwood, laminate and luxury vinyl tile applications, are made from Low-E, a patented reflective insulation created by heat-bonding a pure aluminum facing to closed cell, non-toxic polyethylene foam.

In addition to their thermal barrier properties, both Therm E Pad products: deaden sound; add a vapor barrier between subfloor and floor; are non-toxic; will not off-gas and are indoor air-quality-rated; smooth out subfloor imperfections and are easy to install with tape, staples and utility knife, according to the company.
