ACI Releases Revised Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete

message

IVC US Names Kegan as Official Design Spokesperson

message
In conjunction with the launch of its brand new US websiteivcfloors.comIVC US announced that it has engaged designer and television personality Lynn Kegan as the companys official design spokesperson. Appearing on such shows as Food Networks Restaurant Impossible and HGTVs Designed to Sell, Kegan first came across IVC sheet vinyl products while searching for flooring for a television makeover show. I remember my budget and install time were really tight and the visual impact needed had to be huge. I was standing in a retail store considering all my flooring options, and I kept coming back to this one particular sheet vinyl sample. As a designer, I was drawn to the incredible realism of the color and texture of IVC sheet vinyl. Plus, I realized I didnt have to worry about tearing, breaking or scratching the flooring during installation. The experience really made me want to find out more about IVC and how I could get my hands on more of their products to use for my design and television ...    leer

Armstrong Announces Freight Rate Increase

The North American trucking industry continues to be challenged by unprecedented conditions.Carriers are passing on rate increases to Armstrong, and while we continue our best efforts to mitigate costs wherever possible, we are no longer in a position to keep absorbing these increases, said Dominic Rice, vice president commercial, Armstrong Floor Products. We understand the burden this places on our customers and we are committed to ongoing efforts to defray costs wherever possible. For more information, visit . ...    leer

Armstrong Publishes Third Quarter 2014 Results

message
Armstrong has released its third quarter 2014 results. Operating income from continuing operations fell 26% over the 2013 period to $69 million, and adjusted EBITDA from continuing operations dipped slightly by 4% to $117 million. Consolidated net sales of $728.3 million decreased slightly compared to the prior year period, driven by lower volumes in Europe, and in resilient and wood flooring in the Americas, which more than offset the impact from favorable price and mix, the company said. Operating income and net income both declined compared to the prior year period, driven primarily by approximately $12 million of fixed asset impairment charges in the European flooring business and $7 million for severance and other charges associated with the closures of a resilient flooring plant in Thomastown, Australia, and engineered wood flooring plant in Kunshan, China. The declines in operating income and net income were also driven by the margin impact of lower volumes, higher SGA expenses an ...    leer
